I was born and raised in Wisconsin.  Coming from an outdoor family, I grew up hunting, fishing, trapping, canoeing, camping, etc. throughout the Midwest.  I went to high school in Hartford, Wisconsin and then to college at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point in their College of Natural Resources where I graduated with a bachelor’s degrees in Water Resource Management and Chemistry.  After college I took a job with an environmental engineering firm in Pewaukee, Wisconsin.  I worked there for 8 years, then married my wife Cindy and moved to Iowa where she was to start an internship.  After living in Iowa for three years, we both fell in love with the area and decided to settle down there for good.  We have been in Iowa now for about 15 years and have two sons Ben (6) and Hunter (10).  The move to Iowa prompted me to reevaluate my career and look for a job related to something I really am passionate about…the outdoors.  That eventually led me to a job with William J. Gartland and Associates (WJG).

I have been with Wm. J. Gartland and Associates now for 13 years.  I have also been an avid bowhunter for over 30 yrs.  With WJG, I service a variety of independent dealers, farm stores, distributors and catalog retailers.  I believe long term success comes from working hard and being upfront and honest with your customers.  The bottom line is people like to do business with people they like and trust.
